Veel ouders willen dan helpen, sussen of oplossen. Dat is begrijpelijk. Toch werkt goedbedoelde hulp niet altijd zoals je hoopt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Hieronder lees je wat <b>vaak niet helpt<\/b>, en wat <b>wel ondersteunend kan zijn<\/b> wanneer een kind overprikkeld thuiskomt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><b>Wat vaak niet helpt<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Dit zijn dingen die logisch voelen, maar bij een overprikkeld kind juist extra spanning kunnen geven:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Veel vragen stellen<\/b><br \/>Vragen als <i>\u201cHoe was het?\u201d<\/i> of <i>\u201cWat is er gebeurd?\u201d<\/i> vragen om woorden en overzicht. Dat is precies wat op dat moment vaak ontbreekt.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Direct oplossingen aandragen<\/b><br \/>Goedbedoelde adviezen kunnen voelen als extra prikkels, terwijl een kind eerst moet ontladen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Rust afdwingen<\/b><br \/>Zeggen dat een kind rustig moet zijn, helpt meestal niet. Het lichaam staat nog \u2018aan\u2019.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Straffen of corrigeren<\/b><br \/>Gedrag na school is vaak geen onwil, maar een signaal van overbelasting.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><b>Wat vaak w\u00e9l helpt<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Niet elk kind heeft hetzelfde nodig, maar dit zijn manieren die vaak steunend zijn:<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Eerst ontladen, dan praten<\/b><br \/>Beweging, spel of creatief bezig zijn helpt om spanning te laten zakken. Praten kan later.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Een vast overgangsmoment<\/b><br \/>Een korte wandeling, even tekenen of samen iets drinken kan helpen om de schooldag af te sluiten.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Nabijheid zonder eisen<\/b><br \/>Samen zijn zonder vragen of verwachtingen geeft veiligheid.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><b>Keuzes klein houden<\/b><br \/>Te veel opties geven extra prikkels. E\u00e9n of twee duidelijke keuzes zijn genoeg.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><b>Kijk naar het patroon<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Als een kind structureel na school overprikkeld is, kan het helpend zijn om niet alleen naar het moment thuis te kijken, maar naar het geheel:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\"><\/span>hoe ziet de schooldag eruit?<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\"><\/span>hoeveel prikkels krijgt een kind te verwerken?<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\"><\/span>waar is ruimte om te herstellen?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\">Het gedrag vertelt vaak iets over wat een kind nodig heeft.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><b>Kleine oefening voor thuis<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Na school kun je samen:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\"><\/span>even bewegen (rennen, fietsen, trampoline)<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\"><\/span>tekenen zonder opdracht<\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\"><\/span>samen zitten en voeten op de grond voelen<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\">Het doel is niet om \u2018rustig te worden\u2019, maar om spanning te laten afvloeien.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><b>Tot slot<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Overprikkeling na school is geen teken dat er iets mis is met een kind of met de opvoeding. Het laat zien dat een kind zich de hele dag heeft aangepast en thuis weer zichzelf kan zijn.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Creatieve lifehacks kunnen ondersteunen.
